In March 2004 the Bank launched its investment banking business through which the Bank provides corporate bond financial advisory services and underwriting services. Beginning in 2006, the Bank has acted as an arranger of bond issues and provides related services, including underwriting, drafting of investment and offering circulars, presentations for investors, securities registration with state authorities, listing of securities, stabilization and paying agency services. The Bank has jointly arranged 24 domestic bond issues for large Ukrainian companies with a total principal value of UAH 1.218 billion.

FUIB, as one of the pioneers in Ukrainian trade finance, from the very outset of its activity was focused on provision of high-quality services to foreign trade participants including domestic leaders of heavy machinery, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical and aircraft sectors, energy, defense industry, production machinery etc. Today, FUIB’s trade finance and documentary services, comprising issuance of letters of credit, guarantees, post-import financing, export and post-export financing, collections, cooperation with foreign bank and non-bank lending institutions, long-term ECAs financing, cover a majority of businesses in Ukraine and the Bank is recognized as one of the leaders in the Ukrainian market.

The Bank’s trading and brokerage offers corporate customers and high net worth private banking clients with services on trading securities. The brokerage business operates with hryvnia-denominated debt securities of Ukrainian government and corporate issuers.

The Bank’s treasury services business consists of settlement transactions, foreign exchange (“FX”) operations, granting and accepting interbank loans and deposits. The Bank historically has been one of the market-makers in Ukraine.

The Bank provides a broad range of basic and supplementary custodian services for legal entities and individuals holding securities of Ukrainian issuers. The Bank’s current license authorizing it to engage in professional custodian services was issued by the Securities and Stock Market State Commission on 21 October 2009 (see Licences section).

The Bank also opens and maintains correspondent bank accounts for its clients within a broad network of correspondent banks globally, including in such financial centers as Switzerland, the United States of America, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom as well as in Ukraine, CIS and the Baltic region. The Bank carries out settlement transactions, foreign exchange operations, servicing of correspondent bank and investment accounts, granting and accepting of interbank loans and deposits with correspondent banks in 18 currencies (see Correspondent Banks section). The Bank can also operate transactions with any other currency and in any country subject to national and international regulations and requirements.

The Bank also actively cooperates with banks, companies, funds etc in both local and international capital and credit markets developing financial instruments like Eurobond, syndicated and bilateral finance, trade finance and others.
